The Mithila region of Bihar has cultivated makhana for over 500 years. Grown in the sacred ponds and wetlands of North Bihar, these lotus seeds are hand-harvested at dawn by skilled farmers who have passed this craft down through generations.
Why We Started
We saw premium makhana being sold as a generic "healthy snack" — stripped of its story, its provenance, and its identity. We wanted to change that.
